RMD COLLABORATIVE

Exterior restoration and interior gut renovation of existing side by side brick row houses in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood.  Interior masonry party walls were removed to accommodate large footprint office and retail space on the upper floors and a coffee shop on the lower level.  Exterior improvements included full masonry restoration of the existing brownstone and brick veneer.  Existing replacement windows were removed and replaced with appropriately styled wood windows.  New mansard slate and custom copper flashings and gutters were installed to replicate the existing profiles where they were unable to be adequately repaired.  Mismatched precast concrete storefront bays were removed and replaced with new brownstone and metal storefronts more aesthetically appropriate for the street and neighborhood.
